Boston and NYC Trip!

On my second day in Boston we heard about this place called

Frost Ice Loft

, and we decided that we had to go check it out. Frost Ice Loft is basically a bar where it's 21 degrees and literally everything from the cups to the tables and even the decorations are made completely of ice. During the day it is open to all ages, but after 6pm it becomes 21 and up. There is a $12 cover ($10 with a student discount) and you are given a poncho and gloves to wear, and trust me, you'll need both. They do offer hot chocolate, both spiked and regular, but I opted for a cold drink because I really just wanted to use an ice cup. It was definitely an interesting experience, but we didn't last in there for more than an hour because after about 25 minutes we couldn't feel our hands. Or our noses. Or our feet. It was SO cold. I'm glad that we went, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Boston, but I probably would not go back. While it was a cool experience, it was not the type of place I would typically go to hang out, and the crowd skewed a little on the older side--definitely a bit more touristy than your typical bar. So if you're looking for a fun, unique experience, I'd give it a try! But if you're looking for a place with a bit of a wilder vibe or are trying to go out and meet people, I'd skip this one.

The next day happened to be our third Anniversary, so we decided to go out for dinner. After searching for nice, affordable restaurants in Boston we found

Giacomo's Ristorante

, a small Italian restaurant in Boston known for their seafood. Since the restaurant was so small, there is a constant line out the front door, so we arrived and got in line. We ordered the Zuppe Di Pesce, which is basically seafood heaven on top of linguine noodles with your choice of 6 sauces. They say it serves two, but we definitely still had plenty leftover for breakfast the next morning!

On Friday we took a Mega Bus from Boston to New York, and I was determined to try the incredible milkshakes from

Black Tap

that I've been seeing all over the internet. We walked from Penn Station to Black Tap only to find that there was an hour and a half long line, but at that point, we had committed. When we finally did get inside, we ordered the cookie milkshake and it was amazing. It looked just like the pictures I had seen and it tasted even better than it looked!

Is there anything you have done in Boston or New York that is a must-do? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!

XOXO,

Olivia
