Fall Style Checklist!

Fall Closet Must Haves.jpg

Fall is only a couple of months away, and since it’s my ALL time favorite season, I couldn’t resist getting a head start on my fall content. Summer is cool and all, but I’m ready for cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and cooler weather! Since we do still have a couple of months to go, I figured now would be a perfect time to give you a shopping checklist filled with all of the important fall basics! Pretty much every single one of my fall outfits consists of some combination of the above, so they’re such good pieces to have in your closet, because they’re all so versatile and can be styled in SO many different ways!

Black Jeans

Black Jeans for Fall.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Black jeans are probably one of my most worn clothing items in the fall! They’re the perfect alternative to normal jeans or leggings on days where you need to feel just a little bit dressier, and they go with literally everything!

Distressed Jeans

Available on Prime and under $40!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.

There is no better combo than distressed jeans, a comfy sweater or cardigan, and a cute pair of booties! It’s the perfect way to look effortlessly stylish and put together all season!

Regular Jeans

Dark Wash Denim, Affordable Jeans

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

While I love distressed denim, sometimes you just need to up the class a bit, and nothing beats a great pair of dark wash denim! Perfect for looking casual without looking TOO casual, and SO slimming!

Striped Turtleneck

Striped Turtleneck, fall staples, basics

One. Two. Three. Four.

I’m actually currently working on a blog post about all the different ways to style a striped turtleneck because there are seriously so many options! I love them under sweaters and cardigans, but they’re also cute alone with a scarf or fun long necklace! Definitely a great versatile piece to have in your closet!

Utility Jacket

Utility Jacket, Fall Style, Fall basics

One. Two. Three. Four.

I have had my utility jacket for YEARS (like literally since high school!) and it’s always one of the first pieces I pull out every fall! They’re nice and lightweight, so they are the perfect fall transition piece! Throw it over a cute cami with some distressed denim and a pair of booties and you look pumpkin patch ready without dying of heatstroke in the still 75 degree late September weather!

Sherpa Pullover

One. Two. Three. Four.

Y’all know how much I LOVE my comfy pieces, so it probably isn’t a surprise to you that my sherpa pullover is one of my all time favorite pieces! I love it alone with leggings, or layered underneath a vest or jacket with a nice pair of jeans for a more dressed up casual look!

Chambray Shirtdress

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Chambray shirt dresses are a great fall staple and an amazing transition piece! You can dress them up or down depending on the look you’re going for, and can wear them alone while it’s still warm out or layered (hello, utility jacket, cozy cardigan or oversized scarf!) when it starts to get a bit colder! So many ways to wear them!

Oversized Scarf

All under $50!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four.

The perfect way to switch up any outfit (and up the cozy factor) in the fall is to add an oversized scarf! Basically, adding an oversized scarf is the best way to outfit repeat and get away with it! lol

Short Booties

Comes in 9 different colors and patterns!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Short booties are my favorite for early fall, and they make your legs look so long, especially if they have a bit of a heel to them! They’re a great way to dress up any outfit with jeans, and I love wearing them with leggings with a cute pair of socks peeking out of the top for a cute, cozy fall look!

Riding Boots

I've had this pair for five years and still wear them every fall!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four.

Riding boots are another classic closet staple that you’ll get a ton of use out of! You can wear them dressed up with a cute shirt dress, or dressed down with a sweater and leggings!

Rain Boots

Untitled design (13).jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven.

The right pair of rain boots can brighten up any rainy day! Over the years I have accumulated quite a few pairs of rain boots, and I honestly look forward to rainy days because I love any excuse to pull them out! I have three tall pairs that I love for casual outfits, and then two pairs of rain booties that are great for dressing up! If you want to start with just one pair, you can’t go wrong with a simple pair of black rain boots, short OR tall!

Neutral Tote

Such a good LV dupe for only $50! Comes in the cream version, too!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

So, I’m kind of a tote hoarder. I seriously can never have enough of them! Maybe it’s because I carry around way more stuff than I need, but I love them! I love them so much that I actually have and can personally vouch for more than one of these bags (I used to carry all of my school books and laptop in number 3 and it’s still in almost perfect condition 5 years later! Talk about a solid bag!). I also plan on buying number 1 for the fall, because it’s so cute!

Clear Umbrella

Clear umbrella, rainy day style, fall

One. Two. Three.

Nothing ruins a cute outfit like a big, bulky umbrella! I LOVE clear umbrellas because they go with any outfit and add an extra chic factor, too!

Oversized Sweater

Under $20 and comes in two colors!.jpg

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.

Let’s be real. Fall would not be fall without oversized sweaters! They’re literally my favorite thing about fall, because you can throw it on with leggings and boots and look like you actually tried, when let’s be real, you didn’t. Seriously the best piece of clothing there is.

Comfy Cardigan

Cardigan, Cozy fall style, fall outfits

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.

Cardigans are my favorite not just for fall, but all year round! They’re perfect for transitional weather because you can throw it on over a lighter dress or tank for a cute cozy look without getting too warm, and they’re my favorite thing to lounge around at home in!

Felt Hat

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

A hat is the best (and easiest) way to up-level any outfit and make yourself look instantly put together and fashionable!
